[size=6][font=Times New Roman][size=5][font=Times New Roman]شناخته شده ترین این ابتکارها پروازهای انتحاری خلبانهای ژاپنی بود که در بین جهانیان به [/font][/size][size=4][url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kamikaze"]کامیکازه[/url][/size][size=5][font=Times New Roman] معروف شدند. آنها فکر می کردند که غرق کردن یا از کارانداختن یک ناوجنگی ارزش زندگی یک خلبان و هواپیمایش را دارد. این معادله بسیار ساده بود اما تاکتیکهای دفاعی نیروی دریایی آمریکا، جنگنده های بیشمارشان و توپهای ضدهوایی که بر روی کشتی هایشان نصب کردند چنان تلفاتی به کامیکازه ها وارد کردند که برتری تاکتیکی آنها را به کمترین کاهش داد.[/font][/size][/font][/size]

[size=6][font=Times New Roman][size=5][font=Times New Roman]نیروی دریایی ژاپنی به کامیکازه هایش یک [/font][/size][size=4][url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shinyo_%28suicide_boat%29"]قایق انفجاری[/url][/size][size=5][font=Times New Roman] نیز افزود تا توانایی های هجومی اش را در سطح دریا افزایش دهد. قبل از تسلیم شدن، نیروی دریایی ژاپن در حدود 6000 فروند قایق انفجاری شینیو ساخته بود که بیشتر آنها به خرج انفجاری یا 2 بمب زیرآبی مجهز شده بودند این قایق ها تنها در زمان حمله آمریکا به جزیره اکیناوا به کار گرفته شدند و 200-300 فروند از آنها که به دشمن حمله کردند تنها توانستند یک فروند لندینگ کرافت را غرق کرده و به 5 فروند شناور دیگر آسیب برسانند.[/font][/size][/font][/size]

[size=6][font=Times New Roman][size=5][font=Times New Roman]نازیها نیز در اواخر جنگ به ساخت یک نمونه قایق انفجاری روی آوردند. آنها تولید قایق انفجاری خود را در تعداد زیادی از کارگاه های قایق سازی سواحل شمالی آلمان پی گرفتند و آنها را اسپرنگ بوت یا قایق انفجاری نامیدند. این قایقهای کوچک چوبی از یک یا دو موتور اتومبیل نیرو می گرفتند و به یک صندلی پران ،که از هوای فشرده استفاده می کرد، مجهزشده بودند. قایقران باید پس از اینکه قایق خود را در مسیر برخورد با شناور دشمن قرار می داد در فاصله 100 متری صندلی خود را فعال می کرد و بیرون می پرید. البته اینکه چرا آلمان در انتهای جنگ به ساخت چنین وسیله ای روی آورد اسباب تعجب است چرا که آنها به سرعت از شرق و غرب در حال عقب نشینی بودند و دیگر نبردهای زمینی بودند که سرنوشت جنگ را مشخص می کردند نه نبردهای دریایی.[/font][/size][/font][/size]

[size=6][font=Times New Roman][size=5][font=Times New Roman]ایتالیایی ها ،اما، در این گونه کوششها پیشگام بودند. آنها قایقهای ام.تی.ام خود را بر اساس نمونه های قایق ام. ای.تی ،متعلق به دوران قبل از جنگ، ساختند. ام.تی.ام رویه ای برزنتی و بدنه ای چوبی داشت. ام.تی.ام به اندازه ای کوچک بود که می توانست توسط هواپیماهای آبنشین اس-55 حمل شود. این قایقهای انفجاری نیز دارای خرج انفجاری بودند که در زمان برخورد به شناور دشمن منفجر می شد. در سالهای 38-39 تعداد 38 فروند از این قایقها ساخته شد که 2 فروند از آنها توانستند رزمناو اچ.ام.اس یورک را در ماه مارس 1941 غرق کنند. قایق ام.تی.آر نمونه کوچکتر ام.تی.ام بود که برای حمل توسط زیردریایی طراحی شده بود. ام.تی.اس و ام.تی.اس.ام اژدرهای انسانی کوچکی بودند که یکی از آنها توانست ناوشکن انگلیسی اچ.ام.اس اریگ را در سال 1942 غرق کند. نمونه بهسازی شده ام.تی.اس.ام با نام ام.تی.اس.ام.آ می توانست 50 کیلوگرم مهمات بیشتر حمل کند و برد آن به 465 کیلومتر می رسید.[/font][/size][/font][/size]
